How to create GFS2 filesystem in running cluster?

Issue

  • Need to create the GFS2 filesystem online and make it available in Red Hat cluster without interrupting currently running cluster services.

  • There is plan to add new LUN which is visible from both the nodes and then extend the VG which is already in a cluster. Then create new logical volume online using clustered LV, please provide steps to accomplish this activity.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 6 with Resilient Storage Add-Ons
  • Global Filesystem 2 (GFS2)
  • Clustered Logical Volume Manager (clvmd)
