JBoss Fuse - Jolokia Authentication not working with LDAP configuration

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We are using the Fabric8 Maven plugin to do a deployment to a remote Fabric Server.
    According to the article here:
https://github.com/fabric8io/fabric8/blob/master/docs/mavenPlugin.md, jolokiaUrl need to be configured to point to our fabric server.

  • However, authenticating into http://ourserver:8181/jolokia is not working. Our fabric is configured with LDAP and we tried both LDAP credential and the credential in etc/user.properties, neither is working.

  • As a test, this behavior can be duplicated by navigating to the url in a browser. When the prompt ask for credential, enter either credential, both are rejected and does not allow user to go into this url.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Fuse
    • 6.1.0
  • Jolokia
  • LDAP
