Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Why does Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 anaconda not utilize all space in volume group if created on LVM Thinpool even if mentioned?
  • Root filesystem size discreprency using thin pool/volumes
  • If thin pool partitioning is used, the volume group still have free space which it should not.
  • The vgs shall not have free space as --grow is used with logvol none.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • Kickstart LVM Thin Pool
