Device not assignable error when passing a PCI device to a KVM virtual guest
Issue
- Attempting to pass a PCI device to a KVM guest and getting an error similar to the following:
Error starting domain:
Requested operation is not valid:
PCI device $device_address is not assignable
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 KVM Hypervisor
- KVM guest using a passthrough device
