Why does ipmi_tool reboot the local cluster node instead of the remote cluster node when using the -I open option?

Issue

When testing fencing with ipmi tool, the local node rebooted instead of the remote node when i use the -I open option:

[root@192.168.0.1 ~]# ipmitool -H 192.168.0.2 -I open -U user -P passw0rd power reset

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 w/ High Availability or Resilient Storage
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 w/ High Availability or Resilient Storage
