Troubleshooting PBOX00070 errors in EAP 6

Issue

  • Receiving the following error with no details as to why authentication has failed:
    PBOX000206: Login failure: javax.security.auth.login.FailedLoginException: PBOX000070: Password invalid/Password required

  • We have suddenly started to receive the following error in our jboss logs for one of the servers and due to which the application server is not working as expected:

 DEBUG [org.jboss.security] (Remoting "standalone-XXXX" task-1) PBOX000206: Login failure: javax.security.auth.login.FailedLoginException: PBOX000070: Password invalid/Password required
