OMDD application failed to startup due to SHM key collision.

Issue

  • When attempt to start-up the OMDD application via ssh, the application processes failed with following error:
2014/07/29 23:39:51.648 | xab-cde[23416] | error | CircularBufferMng::CircularBufferMng() Problem creating shared memory pool for 
2014/07/29 23:39:51.665 | xab-rst[23417] | error | Xdp::ShmUtils::attachShm - ERROR getting shm segment with key 33751928 and size 8444 : Invalid argument
  • We then stopped the BMC Patrol agent and then restarted the OMDD application successfully.
  • OMDD application is using ftok function to generate SHM key.
