While provisioning system from Red Hat Satellite v 6.0 with foreman bootdisk, it fails with error " Input/output error Failed to chainload from any network interface"

Issue

  • While trying to provision a system with Foreman bootdisk, generic host fails. After booting the VM, it gets DHCP and reaches out to Satellite, and then fails with error:
Input/output error (http://ipxe.org/1d0c6139)
Failed to chainload from any network interface

While accesing the iPXE template in webui : https://satellite.mydomain.com/unattended/iPXE?hostname=client-10.mydomain.com, it throws error:

There was an error rendering the Boot disk iPXE - host template:
undefined local variable or method `bootdisk_chain_url' for
#<#<Class:0x0000000e5b52d0>:0x0000000fcd3020>
