RHEL 5 virtual machine guest has slow NFS client performance
Issue
- Virtualized Rhel 5.7 guests slow. Slow IO over NFS
- Physical host with 24GB of RAM:
# time cp -a --sparse=never 20gigfile /castlebe/.
real 2m10.065s
user 0m0.404s
sys 0m39.059s
Virtual guest with 24GB of RAM:
# time cp --sparse=never 20GFILE /castlebe/
real 4m47.278s
user 0m0.720s
sys 1m14.565s
