Resizing a gfs2 filesystem gfs2_grow hangs after printing "The file system grew by <size>MB" on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
Issue
- The gfs_grow command failed to complete when running the gfs2_grow command causing the filesystem to be come unavailable on all 4 nodes.
[root@node01 ~]# gfs2_grow /u04

The file system grew by 102396MB.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (with Resilient Storage Add-on)
- Red Hat High Availability cluster with 2 or more nodes.
- GFS2 filesystems
- Extending the filesystem with gfs2_grow hangs and does not complete.
- Oracle database accessing files on GFS2 filesystem during gfs2_grow.
