mount over (UDP) fails for GlusterNFS server

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • After enabling mount.udp on for a our volume it is observed that we are not able to mount GlusterNFS volume subdirectories on Solaris.
# mount nfs://hostname/sharename /var/tmp/sharename
nfs mount: hostname: : RPC: Program not registered
nfs mount: retrying: /var/tmp/sharename
  • we need to use UDP for mount protocol since AIX and Solaris use mount UDP by default for NFS clients.
