Running a job in root's crontab does work, but it's failing in /etc/cron.d/

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Running a logrotate in /etc/cron.daily/logrotate doesn't work once I put a custom configuration
  • Same command in root account does work without an issue
  • It turned out the issue is in SELinux context in the /var/log/, but don't understand why crond doesn't work whilst root's crontab does

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5/6/7
