Unable to log in as root to cloud instance

Issue

  • When creating an instance within OpenStack from a standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux image, users are unable to log in as root:
$ ssh root@192.168.0.1
Warning: Permanently added '192.168.0.1' (RSA) to the list of known hosts.
Please login as the user "cloud-user" rather than the user "root".
