Getting makeinfo error while installing GDB (version 7.4) - RHEL5

Issue

While installing the GDB 7.4 getting an "makeinfo" error.

Package Download information :ftp://sourceware.org/pub/gdb/releases/gdb-7.4.tar.gz

Followed README instructions. ./configure runs fine , but running make it gives the following error:

checking whether wcsrtombs is declared without a macro... yes
checking whether wcsnrtombs is declared without a macro... yes
checking whether wcwidth is declared without a macro... yes
checking for makeinfo... /depot/gdb/gdb-7.4/missing makeinfo --split-size=5000000
`configure: error: makeinfo is required for compilation`
make[1]: *** [configure-gdb] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/depot/gdb/gdb-7.4'
make: *** [all] Error 2
