scsi_reserve is not registering all paths in a multipath map after a node is fenced in RHEL 5 Update 6

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When the second node is rebooted after a fence, only one path to the shared disk is enabled on restart, the other is failed/faulty.
  • When a node is fenced with fence_scsi, upon reboot scsi_reserve does not register one of the paths in the multipath map.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 with the High Availability Add On
  • SCSI Persistent Reservation fencing (fence_scsi)
  • device-mapper-multipath-0.4.7-42.el5
