rgmanager status check on lvm resource fails repeatedly with "Symbolic link for <device> is not present" in RHEL 5 or 6
Issue
- The lvm resource status check failed because /dev/vg/lv does not exist or is not a symbolic link (and it happens every hour)
- Cluster services with lvm resources are failing status checks repeatedly:
Apr 15 04:05:00 node1 clurgmgrd: [5702]: <err> Symbolic link for /dev/vg/lv is not present
Apr 15 04:05:00 node1 clurgmgrd[5702]: <notice> status on lvm "mylv" returned 1 (generic error)
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 or 6 with the High Availability Add On
- Cluster service(s) in /etc/cluster/cluster.conf with lvm resources
