The sftp login fails with the error "fatal: bad ownership or modes for chroot directory" in the secure log of the ssh server side
Issue
- The
sftplogin fails with the following error message:
Write failed: Broken pipe
Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer
- The
sshserver outputs the following error in/var/log/secure.
sshd[XXXX]: fatal: bad ownership or modes for chroot directory
- /etc/ssh/sshd_config has ChrootDirectory configuration.
