Issue

  • Why is sssd not resolving entries from an LDAP directory if the reply from the LDAP server is big?
  • While sssd can lookup LDAP users and small groups fine, why does it fail to lookup groups with more than 450 members or if the reply is larger than 3733 bytes?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 and 6
  • Novell eDirectory versions bevore 8.8.7, offering LDAP services
  • package sssd accessing the LDAP services
