When I get to my GRUB boot loader screen, it says that I have DOS! I wanted a dual-boot system with Linux and Windows? What happened?

This is the default name for the Windows partition, no matter what version. You will find this configuration is labeled in the /etc/grub.conf file as "DOS". To change it, edit the grub.conf file (with an editor of choice) to a more accurate name if you like.
