How does syslog logging for chroot()ed SFTP service work?

Issue

  • We need to know if the SSHD internal SFTP Server does it's logging inside the chroot environment. Currently there is nothing inside the environment beside data and the mount point. And as described I got all the log messages even if the socket creation in rsyslog failed.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • OpenSSH SFTP service using chroot
