I get a blank screen during a graphical installation on a laptop. What can I do to correct this situation?

If you cannot complete a graphical installation on your laptop because the screen goes blank, than the installer is not properly detecting the laptop's video hardware.

In most cases, there is no way to force a graphical installation. However, with some laptops, the graphical installer will work if you pass the following VGA parameter at the boot prompt:
