fence_rsb only turns a node off but not back on with 'action="reboot"' or '-o reboot' and fencing fails in RHEL 6 or 7

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • To test fence_rsb I've launched it with -o reboot and the result is the second machine is powered off and doesn't turn back on.
  • fence_rsb fails fencing when I use action="reboot" instead of "off"

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 or 7 with the High Availability Add On
  • fence-agents-rsb releases prior to 4.0.11-10.el7 in RHEL 7
  • All fence-agents releases in RHEL 6
  • Fujitsu servers
    • One or more nodes configured to use fence_rsb as its fence agent
    • This may only occur on certain (unknown) firmware revisions
