UUID is not set for swap device in /etc/fstab with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 Installation

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • RHEL6.4 is installed on multipath device.
  • When the installation completes, swap is on mpath device in /etc/fstab
/dev/mapper/mpathcp5 swap swap defaults 0 0
  • But after reboot, mpathc is not recognized so the swap size is 0.
  • Changing mpathc to UUID is working.
  • What is the root cause of this issue?
