How to stop NetworkManager from automatically configuring or managing new NICs with the connection name 'Wired connection *' in RHEL 7, 8, and 9

Issue

  • NetworkManager tries to activate any newly installed network interfaces.
  • The below 'Wired connection 1' is created automatically.
