  • the kernel livelocks trying to grab tasklist_lock
  • CPU usage is constantly 100% and the system appears hung
  • Reproducible e.g. when logging in with ssh

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
    • kernels earlier than kernel-2.6.32-504.el6
    • kernels earlier than kernel-2.6.32-431.61.2.el6
  • audit is enabled
