RHEV-M reports "Critical, Low disk space. Host has less than 500 MB of free space left on: /var/log" for RHEV-H hosts

Issue

  • After applying the fixes described in knowledge articles 289583 and 340123, RHEV-M reports the following error for RHEV-H hosts even if the hosts have plenty of storage space remaining:

    Critical, Low disk space. Host has less than 500 MB of free space left on: /var/log

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor (RHEV-H) release 6.5 (20140112.0.el6)
