Data migration to JON storage node using rhqctl upgrade fails due to RHQ is already installed

Issue

  • Storage node startup and data migration issues
  • No way to migrate data if you give the --run-data-migrator estimate flag
  • Manually run data migration
  • --run-data-migrator do-it fails on subsequent executions of rhqctl upgrade
  • Metric migration fails:

  • Need clarification on running data migration estimate while migrating from JON 3.1.2 to JON 3.2

    WARN  [org.rhq.server.control.command.Upgrade] RHQ is already installed so upgrade can not be performed.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.2
  • Upgrading from JBoss ON 3.1.2 using rhqctl upgrade
  • When rhqctl was executed, the --run-data-migrator estimate argument was used
