After a reboot, login to the Satellite WebUI fails and encounters the error 'Service Temporarily Unavailable'

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After rebooting the Satelite, when I try to login to the Satellite WebUI I encounter:
Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
  • The Satellite services appear to be starting ok (except for taskomatic):
[root@satellite ]# rhn-satellite status
postmaster (pid 2052) is running...
router (pid 2276) is running...
sm (pid 2302) is running...
c2s (pid 2310) is running...
s2s (pid 2318) is running...
tomcat6 (pid ) is running... [ OK ]
httpd (pid 2263) is running...
osa-dispatcher (pid 2341) is running...
rhn-search is running (2374).
cobblerd (pid 2482) is running...
RHN Taskomatic is not running.
  • However running rhn-satellite restart resolves the issue and I can now login.
  • We have configured the Satellite to use Likewise for AD authentication.

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 5.6
  • Active Directory authentication via software from Likewise
