Can you send a query to the datasource before running a user query in EDS?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • We are implementing tools on a DB2 instance to track different types of usage. Is it possible, with JBOSS SOA/EDS 5.3.1 to run a query prior to the query that is sent for the virtualization?

  • Can the query used here have replacements variables? For example %USER_ID% , %APPLICATION% that will get resolved the user and application that has authenticated in Jboss? We want to be able track different uses of the DB2 instance. Since we have the application tier of JBOSS/TEIID we loose the ability to capture the logged in ID, Application being used ( Excel, Access, Jasper, etc ). The tool we are using on the DB2 instance has the ability to set these if we call a stored procedure prior to a query execution.

  • Can we use:

<check-valid-connection-sql> ...</check-valid-connection-sql>

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Data Services (EDS) 5.3.1
