Why /etc/mtab file permissions changed to 600 unexpectedly on a GFS2 filesystem on RHEL 5 or RHEL 6?
Issue
- Every time we collect data using a
sosreport
,/etc/mtab
permissions get changed and users are no longer allowed todf
. - The file
/etc/mtab
permissions change from644
to600
unexpectedly. - Unable to stat mounted or filesystem size when using
GFS2
.
