  • Getting 'Operation not permitted' when trying to copy (as unprivileged user) files owned by root to NetApp NFS v3 share destination.
$ cp -p /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/remote.nfs
cp: preserving permissions for `/mnt/remote.nfs/resolv.conf': Operation not permitted
$
