Using EJB local interfaces between applications in JBoss EAP 7 / 6

Issue

• Can you clarify how JBoss handles local vs. remote EJB3 interfaces? I've read that you can us local interfaces when running within the same JVM however I also have read that local works only if the components are in the same EAR. I was hoping that I would be able to use a EJB3 local interface for the MDB within another EAR.
