Why is java X application not working through ssh tunnel?
Issue
We wanted to use jconsole with OpenJDK and found that it did not work with putty (X display redirection in SSH tunnel)
There is no error message, the X server (Xming) tells that a client is connected, but you do not see a window.
Environment
Server:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x
Client:
- Putty 0.62.0.0
- Xming 6.9.0.31
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
