After restoring a RHEV 3.2 system from backups, unable to use rhevm-manage-domains

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

An attempted RHEV upgrade from 3.2 to 3.3 failed for an unknown reason, and the 3.2 installation needed to be installed from a database backup. After 3.2 was re-installed and the database restored, everything appeared to work except for the engine-manage-domains command. Every attempt to run this command resulted in:

# engine-manage-domains -action=list
Failed reading current configuration. Details: %1$s: One of the parameters for this error is null and no default message to show

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) 3.2
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualizaiton (RHEV) 3.3
