Overview

This document serves as a centralized index for tested and validated configurations by Red Hat for Oracle 19c and 26ai Single Instance and RAC (Real Application Clusters), performance validations, and reference architectures for running Oracle Database workloads on OpenShift Virtualization.

The following validated configurations have not been reviewed by Oracle.

1. Official Resources & References

2. Supported Configuration Matrix

  • Oracle 19c

    Instance Type OS Version Status
Single Instance RHEL 8 [Red Hat Validated]
Single Instance OL 8 [Red Hat Validated]
Oracle RAC RHEL 8 [Red Hat Validated]
Oracle RAC OL 8 [Red Hat Validated]
  • Oracle 26ai

    Instance Type OS Version Status
Single Instance RHEL 8 [Red Hat Validated]
Single Instance RHEL 9 [Red Hat Validated]
Single Instance OL 9 [Red Hat Validated]

Testing is performed with different storage configurations, such as:

  • ODF (Block)
  • Pure Storage (CSI) iSCSI
  • Pure Storage (CSI) FC

3. Detailed Implementation Guides

Select the specific Red Hat Validated configuration below for deep-dive technical requirements (Networking, YAML snippets, and Tuning):

A. Oracle 19c Single Instance

B. Oracle 19c RAC (Real Application Clusters)

C. Oracle 26ai Installation, RAC Setup, and Migration Guide from 19c

D. Everpure Storage Integration

4. Tuning Best Practices

5. Known Issues and Limits

  • MTU Settings: Ensure consistent MTU (9000 recommended) across the RAC private interconnect.
  • IOPS Limits: Review default QEMU disk throttling if performance fluctuates.
