VM connected to localnet network fails to start after modifying the NetworkAttachmentDefinition

Issue

  • We have several localnet NetworkAttachmentDefinitions (NADs) in different namespaces making reference to the same OVS bridge mapping.
  • After modifying some settings in a NAD, for example a different vlanID or mtu, the VM fails to start with FailedCreatePodSandBox events logged.

  • OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) 4.18
  • OpenShift Virtualization 4.18
  • OVN-Kubernetes
  • OVN secondary network with localnet topology
