NGINX returning 503 responses after the connection to the upstream server is refused

Issue

  • We are facing 503 (Service Unavailable) while accessing the URL, but its giving mentioned error:

    [error] 1183#1183: *187 connect() failed (111: Connection refused) while connecting to upstream, client: 999.999.999.999, server: 999.999.999.999, request: "GET /url HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://999.999.999.999:9999/url", host: "999.999.999.999"
