AMQ 7 How to configure leader-follower on OCP

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • In an ActiveMQ leader-follower setup using shared storage and file-locking, the follower broker does not become the leader when the current leader pod is deleted.
  • Both brokers share a persistent volume, and the expected behavior is that when the leader becomes unavailable, the follower should acquire the file lock and take over as the new leader.
  • However, the follower remains in standby mode and does not transition.

Environment

  • Red Hat AMQ On Openshift
