Issue

  • During OpenShift installation on bare metal using the installer-provisioned infrastructure (IPI) method, the installation process failed with the following error:
FATAL failed to fetch Cluster Infrastructure Variables: failed to fetch dependency of "Cluster Infrastructure Variables": failed to generate asset "Platform Provisioning Check": platform.baremetal.externalBridge: Invalid value: "baremetal": could not find interface "baremetal", valid interfaces are ens3f1np1, eno8303, ens1f0np0, ens1f1np1, ens3f0np0
  • This error indicates that the specified external bridge interface baremetal could not be found on the provisioner node.
