Server experiencing high load and nfs filesystems were hung

Issue

  • NFS client was experiencing high load and nfs filesystems were hung. NFS4 is used on the server.MQ applications which heavily uses NFS4 were hung and failed over to another node. df -h command got hung, ping test to NFS server worked and other NFS clients connected to the NFS server reported no issues.Since the NFS file system hung, the MQ process queued up and the load went to 6000+.
