Issue

  • The VMWare guest VM with Fault Tolerance(FT) enabled from Vsphere is unable to boot by showing soft lockup message on the console.
  • The soft lockup's are reported specifically in the context of load_module() function against vmw_vmci driver.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux >= 8.7
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux >= 9.1
  • VMWare guest with FT enabled
