Issue

  • resize2fs shows permission denied to resize filesystem in LVM:

    # resize2fs /dev/mapper/vg00-lvol01
    resize2fs 1.42.9 (28-Dec-2013)
    Filesystem at /dev/mapper/vg00-lvol01 is mounted on /example/mount; on-line resizing required
    old_desc_blocks = 38, new_desc_blocks = 39
    resize2fs: Permission denied to resize filesystem
    
  • dmesg output display EXT4 errors:

    [1961058.837362] EXT4-fs warning (device dm-13): ext4_resize_begin:44: There are errors in the 
    filesystem, so online resizing is not allowed
    [1961061.230812] EXT4-fs warning (device dm-14): ext4_resize_begin:44: There are errors in the filesystem, so online resizing is not allowed
    [1961214.093522] EXT4-fs warning (device dm-13): ext4_resize_begin:44: There are errors in the filesystem, so online resizing is not allowed
