The RHEL 9.2 installation fails with dasbus.error.DBusError: 'DiskDevice' object has no attribute 'members' - anaconda error

Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2

Issue

Error Message:
dasbus.error.DBusError: 'DiskDevice' object has no attribute 'members' - anaconda error

Conditions:
The issue occurs if all of the following conditions met:

  • You use a RAID 0 or 1 volume.
  • You connect the boot device to a USB 3.0 port.
  • You select the Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux option from the installer menu.

Whereas, this issue is not observed if:

  • You use a USB 2.0 port to connect the bootable drive.
  • You install RHEL 9.2 on non-RAID volumes by using a USB 3.0 port.
  • You install other versions of RHEL such as, RHEL 8.5 or RHEL 9.3 on RAID volumes using USB 3.0 ports
  • You select the Test this media and Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux option during the RHEL 9.2 installation.

Resolution

As a workaround, use one of the following solutions:

  • Install RHEL 9.3 or later.
  • Connect to a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port.
  • Select the Test this media and Install Red Hat Enterprise Linux boot menu option.
