Solve BareMetalHost introspection or provision problem due to disconnected environment

Issue

While provisioning BareMetalHosts for OpenStack Director Operator, these processes get stuck for a long time, eventually timing out:

  • BareMetalHost introspection
  • BareMetalHost provision through the creation of an OpenStackBaremetalSet CR.

Connecting to the BareMetalHost during the process, shows the ironic-agent.service failed due to an error trying to pull the image from quay.io.

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17.1
  • OpenStack Director Operator
  • Provisioning network not connected to Internet
