Printing to Windows printers via the LPD protocol is not working
Issue
- We have an issue with CUPS, lpd is not working; just not sending prints.
- The connection to some printers via the LPD protocol is failing.
- We are frequently seeing the status "
/usr/lib/cups/backend/lpd" failed in our printers.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Common Unix Printing System (CUPS)
- Printing to a Windows print server via the Line Printer Daemon (LPD) protocol.
