coreos-installer fails to execute on RHEL 8

Issue

  • When trying to customize the RHCOS ISO image using the coreos-installer on RHEL8, the following error occurs:

    $ coreos-installer_amd64 --version
coreos-installer_amd64: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

  • The coreos-installer used is the latest version downloaded from the Hybrid Cloud Console.
