Baremetal node introspection failed when secure boot is enabled

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • We are trying to install a new RHOSP 17.1 environment with Secureboot enabled on Compute nodes (as well as for Openstack instances). We have enabled secureboot on the bios of the Compute/Controller nodes (Dell R750). We are unable to proceed past the baremetal introspection stage as during PXE boot we are seeing the error "Unable to boot PXE Device 1 because of the secure boot policy". What is the recommended approach to enable secure boot for Compute nodes. Do we have to disable secure boot until the overcloud is deployed then enable secure boot?

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17.1 (RHOSP)
