Issue

  • Migration or evacuate of an instance fails due to the following error:

    </var/log/containers/nova/nova-compute.log on a compute node>
2024-02-01 00:00:00.000 8 ERROR oslo_messaging.rpc.server [...] Exception during message handling: nova.exception_Remote.InstanceGroupNotFound_Remote: Instance group aaaaaaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaaaaaaaaaa could not be found.

  • The instance group doesn't exist:

    # openstack server group list --all-projects |grep aaaaaaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaa-aaaaaaaaaaaa

    ====> no output
