How to reset the (corrupted) data in the Capsule server and re-synchronize them.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Failed to perform a Capsule synchronization due to corrupted database files and the corruptions are unrecoverable. For example:

EDT ERROR: cursor "_django_curs_xxxxxxxxxx_x" does not exist
    EDT STATEMENT: CLOSE "_django_curs_xxxxxxxxxx_x"
EDT ERROR: could not open file "base/12345/67890.1" (target block 123456): No such file or directory

  • Many contents stored in the Capsule server are corrupted and Pulp failed to repair them.
  • Capsule server /var/lib/pulp/media/artifact is almost full due to previous "immediate" sync on the capsule
and disk space is not reclaimable.

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite Capsule 6
