syslog handler includes UTF-8 BOM by default
Issue
In our log files on our syslog server, every entry has a <U+FEFF> string after the app name:
Jan 14 17:05:42 XXXX INTG_DomainController[2059] <U+FEFF>JBoss Modules version 1.3.0.Final-redhat-2
Sometimes it also writes part of a word before:
Jan 14 17:05:41 XXXX INTG_DomainController[2058] Contro - <U+FEFF>JBAS012017: Starting process 'Host Controller'
